Think About It

October 18, 2008

I received this in email today:

A question of perspective: What if things were switched around?  Think about it.

Could racism be the culprit?

Think about the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?  (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger savings and loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama had difficulty reading from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems a nd a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama’s family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list.  If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does.  It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Educational Background:

Barack Obama:
Columbia University: B.A. Political Science with a specialization in International Relations
Harvard – Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware: B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science
Syracuse University College of Law: Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

John McCain:
United States Naval Academy – Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University: 1 semester
North Idaho College: 2 semesters (general study)
University of Idaho: 2 semesters (journalism)
Matanuska-Susitna College: 1 semester
University of Idaho: 3 semesters – B.A. in Journalism

Education isn’t everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our stand ing in the world.  You make the call.

  1. Barack Obama is brilliant. Joe Biden is Brilliant. That’s true. McCain is demented and Sarah Palin is a dolt. Facts too.

The only thing I need to say is if you want to support Barack Obama with purchases online from the Obama Store, don’t do it. They take your money and don’t deliver. I checked with Educators online who ALL had the same experiences of delays and missing and scattered shipments and waiting months for items promised to be delivered in ten business days, not shipped in ten business days, when in stock. I had made dozens of calls and left messages and they don’t communicate back. American Express is disputing it with me, as they took the money and didn’t provide the order. I gave them leeway and they didn’t meet it. It seems Barack Obama’s campaign is only giving one Ohio business the exclusive right to make, sell and distribute the items and they cannot handle the demand, and instead of opening the opportunity up to additional small business owners throughout the country, he is limiting it to this one business. It is disgusting and reflects badly on his oversight and decisionmaking when it comes to the people who work under him and for his campaign. It leaves him open to corruption happening more often like it did with ACORN and with and with Farakhan, and many others. He isn’t managing his store!!! I will still vote for him as the only voice other than Ron Paul which would hurt all involved. I will contact the BBB as a next step. Obama didn’t do anything about the issue when I communicated with him via email. I donated way too much already and did not get campaign receipts and they had better come and be accountable. Used Am Exp so it is trackable. The purchases of items goes in a contributions too, so that is deceptive in his fundraising totals. This should be made public.

  2. “WHAT IF” Sarah Palin had aborted her Down Syndrome baby and walked across the stage with only four children instead of five?

“WHAT IF” Barack Obama had taken legal pain killers instead of snorting illegal crack cocaine, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” John McCain’s father had been a Communist Polygamist with five wives who believed in taxing 100% of Kenyan’s income, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” both John McCain and Sarah Palin had become lawyers like Obama and Biden, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” Barack Obama could speak without stuttering or could say more than three words without an “AH” between them, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” John and Cindy McCain attended Reverend Wright’s Liberation Theology church for twenty-five years but never heard a word “GOD-DAMNING” America, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” Michelle Obama, or anyone in the Obama family, had run a successful business of any kind, even a beer company, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” Cindy McCain had graduated from Harvard, instead of staying home to run her family’s business, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” Barack Obama had met the high physical and academic standards to enter the Naval Academy, and gone to war to fight Communists, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

“WHAT IF” John McCain had launched his political career in the home of an unrepentant American terrorist who killed policemen and stomped on the American flag, would McCain voters still be RACISTS?

  3. I will try to make my peace with the McCain folks if he wins. But honestly, I am afraid for our country in that case. He has a philosophy that is far too close to that of the Bush regime as evidenced by his voting record, which I take it was identical to Bush’s, 90% of the time. I am also afraid of a man who is so unpredictable, hotheaded, and could possibly see Palin as qualified for the role he has put her in.
